Day of maintenance for landmark bridge in Grimsby

10:36 am, Monday, 3rd August 2020 - 5 years ago

General

Routine maintenance works will be carried out to Grimsby’s landmark Corporation Road Bridge.

The maintenance work will include the oiling and cleaning of the mechanical parts and a trial run of the lifting mechanism.

The works will be carried out on Monday 17 August and will take one day to complete.

To ensure the works are completed safely, a full road closure will be in place from 9.30am to 3.30pm.

The section of Corporation Road affected by the road closure will be between the mini roundabout at the entrance to Alexandra Retail Park and the junction with Victoria Street.

Advanced warning signs will be in place and diversions will be signposted. Businesses in the area have been informed.

Pedestrians and cyclists will generally be maintained across the bridge, but there will be short periods of times when this is not possible.

North East Lincolnshire Council’s regeneration partner, ENGIE, will manage and oversee the maintenance with Fairfield Control Systems completing the works.

North East Lincolnshire Council, ENGIE, and Fairfield Control Systems would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused during the works.
