Street Cleansing teams at the Council are going above and beyond to make sure the streets of North East Lincolnshire are looking better than ever.
Working on several areas such as Welholme Road in Park Ward along with many others, teams have been weeding, litter picking and sweeping amongst many other things.
With efforts continuing across multiple wards in the coming weeks and months, crews are determined to make a difference to residents’ everyday lives.
John Munson, Street Cleansing Team Manager, said: “The Deep Clean project is a great way to go that extra mile to make certain areas of the borough look better than ever.
“We’ll be working our way through six different wards over the course of the scheme, with an aim of creating a better looking area for residents to enjoy and feel proud about.”
He added: “The street cleansing teams work tirelessly and are determined in making North East Lincolnshire a better place for those who live and work here. Already, we’ve had multiple compliments thanking teams for what they’ve been doing and it’s clear to see how much of an impact this sort of work has.
“Nobody wants to see weeds or fallen leaves strewn all over a path outside their house or on their way to work and we understand that. This may seem like a small job or an insignificant act, but we want to do anything we can to brighten up people’s days when they’re out and about in the borough.”
Councillor Henry Hudson, Portfolio Holder for Environment and Net Zero, added: “The work carried out by our Street Cleansing Teams is incredible.
“They are the beating heart of this borough, making sure everything looks as good as it can and I would like to personally thank them for it.
“As a Council, we are committed to doing everything possible to make it a welcoming and pleasant environment for everyone. This borough is home to around 170,000 people and we want each and every one of them to be proud of where they live.”
