A series of drop-in sessions is being offered by education officers at North East Lincolnshire Council to support parents who are considering educating their children from home or are currently home educating.
Since the COVID pandemic, more parents have chosen to educate their child from home – known as Elective Home Education or EHE.
To support parents who are exploring the idea of educating their child from home, officers from the Council’s education team are offering a number of support sessions in local family hubs.
Councillor Margaret Cracknell, Portfolio Holder for Children and Education at North East Lincolnshire Council, explained:
“We are very lucky to have some excellent schools in North East Lincolnshire, meaning that it is easier than ever for children to access a first-class education.
“However, some families choose to educate their children at home, and we recognise that having a supportive relationship with these families can help children achieve their potential.”
The sessions are open to all parents – whether you’re currently home educating your child or just starting to explore the idea. Officers will be on hand to provide information, advice and guidance so come and join us for a ‘cuppa’ at one of our Family Hubs.
Whether you are worried about the education you are delivering, want to celebrate the accomplishments of your child, or just to build a network with other families, all are welcome to visit the Family Hubs below:
Immingham Family Hub, every Monday (during term time) from 1pm to 3.30pm
Central Family Hub (during term time) from 1.30pm to 4pm
Nunsthorpe Family Hub (during term time) every Friday from 9.30am to 12pm
