North East Lincolnshire Council and its regeneration partner EQUANS will be testing new lighting options on the town’s Corporation Bridge.

Improvements to the structure’s lighting will be carried out as part of the wider refurbishment scheme, which is expected to start in February 2022.

Engineers will carry out the work on Monday 13 December between the quieter and safer time of 7pm and 10pm. While the bridge will remain open, temporary two-way traffic signals will be in place during the testing.

Work to restore the Grade 2 listed building is expected to begin in late February 2022, with works taking up to 18 months to complete.

The council is working closely with Historic England to make sure the work conforms to its listed bridge requirements.
