North East Lincolnshire Council is advising road users of upcoming investigation works on Cross Coates Road between Yarborough Road and Elm Avenue, Grimsby.

The works will involve digging small trial holes in the ground to enable investigation and assessment of the condition beneath the ground. The trial holes will take place in the road and footpath to find out the existing construction, and the depth of existing utilities.

The testing will take place from Monday 18 May to Tuesday 19 May 2026.

Works will be carried out during the day, under a full road closure between 9am and 4pm.

Every effort will be made to keep disruption to a minimum. However, some noise is unavoidable while work is taking place.

North East Lincolnshire Council and contractor Specialist Surfacing Ltd apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused and thank road users for their patience. The works will be completed as quickly and safely as possible.
