Freshney Place is set to bring festive magic to Grimsby once again this Christmas with its enchanting Winter Wonderland. Packed with free activities, live entertainment, and special appearances, the shopping centre promises a truly memorable festive experience for the whole family!

The Winter Wonderland will open every weekend from 22 November to 21 December, transforming Freshney Place into a sparkling snowy scene where families can meet Father Christmas and enjoy a host of seasonal fun. New for this year, every Sunday from 11am to 12pm will be a Quiet Hour, designed for a calmer festive experience. Spaces are limited and must be booked in advance.  For more information visit the Freshney Place website.

Father Christmas’ helpers will be on hand with festive arts and crafts, and visitors can look out for the dazzling Snow Princesses spreading cheer throughout the centre. Families will also receive a complimentary photo to take home — the perfect keepsake of a magical day.

The mischievous Grinch will once again be causing festive chaos at Freshney Place appearing on various dates starting from 22 November with his partner in crime, Cindy Lou joining the fun on 6 and 21 December.

Adding to the seasonal spirit, local favourite and musician Marty Clarke will perform on selected dates throughout the festive season, while shoppers can also enjoy heartwarming performances from local choirs, including the Foresight Choir on Thursday 28 November from 1.30pm to 2.30pm and the Methodist Church Choir on Saturday 13 December from 2pm to 3pm.

To help with all the festive shopping, Freshney Place will offer extended festive shopping hours on various days between 22 November and 23 December when stores will open from 9am to 7pm. Visitors can also enjoy free parking from 5pm to 7pm on these days, though individual store opening times may vary.

The true spirit of Christmas shines through Freshney Place’s charity initiatives once again this year. The Have a Heart campaign, in partnership with the NSPCC, invites visitors to donate gifts for local children, with the final date for donations being 17 December. The Cards of Kindness campaign encourages the community to post Christmas cards, letters, or drawings for elderly residents, also running until 17 December.

And not one to be forgotten, children can also post their Letters to Santa at Father Christmas’ special post box, located near Next. All letters posted by 17 December will receive a reply in the mail, so don’t forget to include your address!

Elliott Andrews, Centre Manager at Freshney Place, said:

“Christmas at Freshney Place is a truly magical time, and we’re thrilled to bring back our Winter Wonderland for families to enjoy. From Father Christmas and our Snow Princesses to live entertainment and charity campaigns, there’s something for everyone to get into the festive spirit. We can’t wait to welcome visitors and make this Christmas one to remember.”
