RELAUNCHED in recent months following reduced schedules during the Covid-19 pandemic, teams running North East Lincolnshire’s Family Hubs are keen to show off newly decorated facilities at several Family Fun Days taking place this summer.

The borough’s hubs bring together services to offer help and support to children and young people aged 0 to 19 and their families, and include early education, activity sessions, childcare and childcare funding information, health services for children and soon-to-be parents, training and employment, and much more.

The family hubs were in receipt of support from the Start for Life and Family Hubs Programme, which allowed for these hugely positive changes to facilities.  Hubs make a positive difference to parents, soon to be parents, carers and their children by joining-up services, making them easier to access and being seen as a ‘one stop shop’ for support.

Councillor Margaret Cracknell, portfolio holder for children and education at North East Lincolnshire Council, said: “We are looking forward to welcoming families to Family Fun Days during August, where they can enjoy newly painted centres, new equipment, new toys, public WiFi, and plenty of fun activities.

“We are delighted to have these freshly decorated facilities for local families and hope that the revised timetables and increased services at each of the hubs will make a big difference to children, young people and their families across the borough.

“We are looking forward to welcoming people to find out more about the range of family activities and help available at the hubs, particularly for those with babies and young children.”

Family Fun Days will include a range of activities throughout the day, including games, face-painting, and competitions.  Activities will vary according to location.

Family Hub launch dates:

  • Tuesday, August 6, 10am to 2pm – Nunsthorpe, Sutcliffe Ave, Grimsby DN33 1AN
