Horizon Youth Zone members can now get the bus for just £1, less than the price of a coffee!
North East Lincolnshire Council, Stagecoach East Midlands and Horizon Youth Zone have partnered up to offer affordable travel across the borough for all members. Horizon is open to those aged 8-19 and up to 25 for those with additional needs.
A membership costs just £5 a year and opens a world of opportunity. From a state-of-the-art 3G pitch to an incredible climbing wall, there really is everything and more.
If that wasn’t good enough, those with a membership can now get around town for less than ever before. Tickets will be available after 4pm on school days and all day on weekends, bank holidays and half term.
To make sure you get the discounted ticket, just show the driver your membership card when getting on the bus. The offer is strictly for Youth Zone members and is not available to parents or carers.
Matt Cranwell, Managing Director of Stagecoach East Midlands, said: “We are delighted to be part of this exciting scheme. Local buses are an important way for our region’s young people to get out an about, making friends, fulfilling their interests, and enjoying everything that our wonderful region has to offer.
“Buses are a lifeline for so many – giving opportunities and building confidence and independence. As we like to say, at Stagecoach, ‘we’ve got you’!”
Fiona Wright, Head of Fundraising & Communications for Horizon Youth Zone, added: “We know that access can often be one of the biggest barriers to young people attending other Youth Zones. By linking discounted travel to Horizon Youth Zone membership, this fantastic collaboration will make it easier and more affordable for young people from across the borough to access the opportunities, support and experiences available to them.
“We are incredibly grateful to both Stagecoach and North East Lincolnshire Council for recognising the importance of removing barriers for young people and for investing in a solution that will help ensure that every young person, regardless of where they live across North East Lincs, has the chance to be part of Horizon Youth Zone.”
