A footbridge linking Grimsby’s Haven Avenue and Boulevard Park has been closed while awaiting repairs to joints.

North East Lincolnshire Council and its regeneration partner, EQUANS, are warning pedestrians not to use the bridge until works are completed. Barriers are currently in place to block access.

It is expected that works will take place within the next couple of weeks, though it may be extended while external contractors are dealing with a backlog of work across the country.

People wanting to cross from Haven Avenue to the park are advised to use the alternative bridges on either Boulevard Avenue (west side) or Ripon Street (east nearer town centre).
