General

North East Lincolnshire Council and its delivery partner, Equans, are carrying out footway reconstruction works on Little Coates Road, between Welbeck Road and Bradley Crossroads roundabout. The works include the conversion of the existing flagged footway into tarmac footway and the replacement of traffic signs.

The works will begin on Wednesday 20 March and will be completed on Thursday 16 May.

The works will be carried out in three phases, as detailed below:

Phase one – Footway renewal between Bradley Crossroads roundabout and St Michael’s Road (Western side)

The first phase of works will include replacing damaged kerbs, channels, proposed new tactile crossing and reconstruction of the footway.

These works will be carried out under 24hr temporary northbound road closure. During the closure the following arrangements will also be in place:

  • Brocklesby Road/Little Coates Road junction will be temporarily closed.
  • Existing bus stops on St Michael’s Road will be temporarily suspended.

Phase one is scheduled to start on Wednesday 20 March and be completed on Thursday 18 April.

Phase two – Footway renewal between Welbeck Road and Bradley Crossroads roundabout (Eastern side)

The second phase of works will include replacing damaged kerbs, channels, proposed new tactile crossing, renewal of existing traffic signs and reconstruction of the footway.

These works will be carried out under 24hr temporary southbound road closure. During the closure the following arrangements will also be in place:

  • Brocklesby Road/Little Coates Road junction will temporarily closed.
  • Existing bus stops on St Michael’s Road will be temporarily suspended.

Phase two is scheduled to start on Thursday 18 April and be completed on Tuesday 14 May.

Phase three – Carriageway resurfacing and road marking

The final phase of the project is carriageway resurfacing and road marking works, which will start on Tuesday 14 May and is scheduled to be completed on the Thursday 16 May.

To enable this phase of the works to be carried out and ensure the safety of the contractors, a night time road closure will be in place between 9pm and 5am each night.

During all stages of the works, on-street parking will be temporarily suspended. Please support the contractor by not parking vehicles on the carriageway or footpath in the works location to ensure a safe working area can be maintained and to avoid delaying the works programme, which will result in additional nights of road closures to complete the works.

Please allow extra time for journeys and, where possible, use alternative routes to avoid possible delays.

The council, Equans and contractor PBS Construction (North East) Ltd would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience and assure that the work will be completed as quickly and safely as possible.
