Residents and local stakeholders are being invited to join our new Libraries Advisory Board, so that they can support the Council and Lincs Inspire, who deliver the service, with their personal/professional experience, networks, skills and knowledge.
The Advisory Board, comprising of 12 members, will be set up initially for a trial period of two years. This was one of the key recommendations of the Select Committee work that concluded earlier this year, and looked into the future of library services for North East Lincolnshire.
Members of the Board will be able to contribute to the future development of the North East Lincolnshire Library service, including the development of future strategy, working in partnership with North East Lincolnshire Council and Lincs Inspire Limited.
This is a voluntary role, ideal for those who want to contribute their experience, local insight and passion and have a specific interest and expertise in the following areas:
- The role and purpose of public libraries
- Education, literacy and lifelong learning
- Statutory services funding and appropriate grant funding
- Creativity and community engagement
- Digital Inclusivity
- Community demographics and data intelligence
- Community Health & Wellbeing
- Marketing, audience participation and development
Board meetings will take place quarterly in person where possible, with the option of hybrid meeting arrangements available. Task and finish sub-groups to focus on specific areas of development may be set up, as required. In these instances, volunteers from the Libraries Advisory Board members will be sought.
