Habrough friends travel in style with Phone N Ride

A group of friends from Habrough Village and Immingham are able to get together to enjoy local amenities thanks to Phone n Ride’s group booking service.

The party of eight meet every couple of months using the local on-demand travel service. Following the pandemic, the group  vowed to meet more regularly and get out, the group started using Phone n’ Ride back in October 2021.

Phone n’ Ride has assisted the group with maintaining their independence and a way of getting out and about to chat, laugh and catch up with one another. Without this service, the friends would not be able to spend nearly as much time together, if any.

Most recently, the group travelled to Grimsby Garden Centre to look at the plants and flowers and have a meal. They were then able to pick up some shopping in Morrisons before being dropped off back at their houses.

Lynne Botham, group booking organiser for the Habrough and Immingham residents, added, “I love using the Phone n’ Ride service, it gives me and my friends more independence and we are able to plan activities and catch up every now and then. Without the service’s group booking option, arranging a meal out for us all is really difficult. Many of us no longer drive, so would have to rely on getting a lift from someone else. Phone n Ride makes it really easy to organise our trips out.

“We had a fantastic day at the garden centre, it was lovely to have a wander around and grab some food later in the day, all thanks to Phone n Ride.”
