Carers’ Support Centre
The Carers’ Support Service is here for you. They can:
- Give you information and advice about useful resources.
- Help you connect with local support services.
- Work with the North East Lincolnshire Young Carers Project and even make a referral for you if you’d like to join.
Both the Carers’ Support Service and the Young Carers Project also visit schools and colleges to raise awareness and make sure Young Carers get the support they need. Many Young Carers aren’t recognised straight away, so this helps make sure you’re not hidden and can get the help you deserve.

Transitioning from being a ‘Young Carer’
When our Young Carers reach 17, we ensure they have a clear plan to transition to be supported as adult Carers – this includes:
- Senior sessions which take place at the Carers Centre, to ensure they are familiar with the service and the staff
- Quarterly meetings with our colleagues in adult services where, with the young person’s consent, adult services will contact them to discuss their offer of support for both the carer and the cared for person.
