Two leading national brands have confirmed their commitment to Freshney Place in Grimsby, as the shopping centre moves towards its transformation into a contemporary leisure destination for the region.
HMV and EE have both renewed leases at Freshney Place, flagging their ongoing commitment to the town centre as it continues to regenerate. With occupancy levels at 95% in Freshney Place, the lease renewals follow a long line of similar investments from other brands, highlighting the optimism that exists amongst operators.
The Freshney Place development is one of the single biggest investments in Grimsby town centre’s history. It will provide a new destination for the town and will combine retail and leisure including a new cinema, food hall and market.
Jason Sargent, senior leasing manager at Queensberry Real Estate said: “We’re delighted to have secured a series of high-profile lease renewals in the last twelve months, despite closures in other cities and towns around the UK. This indicates a growing confidence in the centre and in Grimsby as the town continues to regenerate.”
Amanda Austin, centre director added; “Freshney Place is a valued destination for both the local community and region, and its redevelopment into a vibrant multi use destination will transform the town centre. It’s testament to the opportunity that exists that we have so many brands renewing their leases – not to mention the ongoing commitment from popular stores like Primark and JD Sports.”
