North East Lincolnshire Council and its delivery partner, Equans, are carrying out investigation works on Peaks Parkway (from Ellis Way junction to B&Q) and Ellis Way (from Peaks Parkway junction to Holles Street).
The works will include breaking out brickwork of the walls to carry out structural investigation works of the retaining structures behind the brickwork facing. These works are essential to determine the structural condition and the integrity of the walls. Information gathered from this will help to plan any necessary repair strategies. These works are part of the Local Transport Plan Capital Programme.
Works are programmed to start on Monday 20 February and will be completed on Friday 21 April. Please note, due to the contractor’s availability, there will be some nights where works will not take place. Therefore, the road will be fully open during these times.
To enable these works to be carried out safely, temporary traffic lights will be in place for Peaks Parkway and lane closures will be in place for Ellis Way between 7pm to 6am, Monday to Friday. The footpath on the north side of Ellis Way will be locally narrowed when works are being carried out on the adjacent wall.
The works will be carried out overnight to reduce the impact on road users and to take into consideration the existing traffic diversions which have been introduced as part of the essential maintenance and restoration work on Corporation Road Bridge.
No traffic diversions are expected for these works. Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained throughout the works.
Every effort will be made to minimise disruption throughout the works. However, please be aware that some elements will be noisy. We recommend that you allow extra time for your journeys whilst the works are undertaken.
The council, Equans and contractor Structural Investigation Services Limited would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience and assure you that the work will be completed as quickly and safely as possible.
