Bins, waste and recycling

A set of new bin holders will help to keep Cleethorpes litter free during the busy periods.

The five new stores will each hold two 180L bins when in use for general waste to give residents and visitors additional places to dispose of waste.

The bins, spaced along Central Promenade, will be used on a temporary basis as and when is necessary to ensure the resort is well looked after by those enjoying it.

The bins come as part of the ongoing project to improve the seaside resort and make the area more accessible to everyone. They will be invaluable during key times such as Armed Forces Weekend and the numerous food markets that make Cleethorpes a top attraction.

Councillor Hayden Dawkins, Portfolio Holder for Culture, Heritage and Visitor Economy, said: “These additional bins and stores are a great addition to the provision we already offer across the resort.

“We know that at peak times litter and waste can quickly build up along the Promenade and this will certainly help crews to clear up after busy times.

“It may seem small but this is just one of many ways we’re making this area a safer and more welcoming place to be.”

Councillor Henry Hudson, Portfolio Holder for Environment and Net Zero, added: “More bins is something residents have wanted for some time so I’m glad we have finally got these installed.

“Cleethorpes is one of the borough’s main tourist attractions and it’s important that we keep it that way by looking after it.

“Small improvements like this, coupled with the larger scale generation, can be nothing but positive for the resort as we look to improve upon what is already a fantastic place to live, visit and work.”
