From today, people in North East Lincolnshire can nominate local stars for an award following the launch of the North East Lincolnshire 2026 SEND Awards.

The Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Awards are a wonderful way of recognising some of the amazing people and unsung heroes in our area – children and young people who work hard to achieve their dreams, and the people who support them every step of the way.

Director of Children’s Services at North East Lincolnshire Council, Ann-Marie Matson, said the awards are an opportunity to recognise children and adults who go above and beyond.

“These awards are such a fantastic initiative – every year I’m blown away by the incredible individuals living and working in North East Lincolnshire.

“Every year we hear some truly inspiring stories of young people who have overcome such tough challenges to persevere and achieve their dreams.

“Alongside those stories, we meet the people who have supported them – whether they be social workers, foster carers or family members – people who have gone above and beyond to sponsor success.

“These awards are an opportunity to get recognition for those SEND Stars. Please get your submissions in – I can’t wait to read them!”

The awards cover 11 categories:
