Following last year’s success, the Parents’ Careers Evening is returning to the Humber Royal Hotel in Grimsby on Wednesday 19 March. The evening is a fantastic opportunity to explore education, training, and career options available across North East Lincolnshire.

The event brings together academic and practical subjects, training, apprenticeships and careers into one room, to inspire young people – and their parents and carers – to consider options after leaving school. The goal is to open conversations and increase awareness of available opportunities, ensuring guardians are well-informed to provide advice.

Targeted at students coming to the end of their education and their parents, carers, and guardians, this free event is open to anyone interested in discovering local opportunities. Even parents and carers might find something that inspires them.

The event will feature over 30 local employers, including representatives from the renewable and construction industries. There will also be displays from organisations such as the RAF, CATCH apprenticeships, Focus Independent Adult Social Care, and Phillips 66.

Representing ‘Made in Great Grimsby’, Joanne Woodhouse will be in attendance as a guest speaker, giving an insight into the seafood sector which employs over 5,000 local people directly. For those about to leave school, there will also be an expert on hand to discuss post-16 choices (including colleges and apprenticeship routes).

The event will be held from 4pm to 7pm with those looking to attend need to book their free spot by filling in the form at https://forms.office.com/e/ajv7k6feF5 or by emailing [email protected].

Throughout the evening there will be free refreshments available.
