Local Development Orders
Local development orders (also known as LDOs) are designed to simplify the planning process under certain circumstances. They are intended to create certainty and save time and money for those involved in the planning process. Local development orders are prepared by the Council to extend permitted development rights, or grant planning permission, for specific development proposals or classes of development in a particular area. They are particularly useful for areas that have a defined boundary.
Local development orders do not override restrictions such as those relating to a listed buildings, and conditions can be attached to developments permitted by them.
There are currently three Local Development Orders in place in North East Lincolnshire.
Preparation and review of local development orders
There are currently no plans to prepare any additional local development orders. However if, we identify the need to prepare additional local development orders details will be provided on this page. This will include information relating to the site location and an estimated timetable for their preparation.
We will monitor development on the sites covered by the adopted local development orders and review the content of the documents where necessary. Details of any review, along with an estimated timetable will be published on this page.
