North East Lincolnshire Council is set to carry out a crown reduction to a tree at the junction of Louth Road and St Giles Avenue, Scartho.

Crown reduction is a pruning technique that cuts branches back to a smaller suitable size, whilst still leaving a strong framework of healthy branches and twigs able to produce a dense leaf cover during the following season.

This helps control the size of the tree whilst maintaining its natural shape.

These works are scheduled to take place on Sunday 1 February between 9am and 5pm.

To ensure the safety of the contractors, there will be a road closure on Louth Road between the junction of Pinfold Lane and the junction of Church Lane in both directions.

The diversion route will be via Waltham Road, Grimsby Road, Station Road and Louth Road. There will be no vehicle access from St Giles Avenue onto Louth Road.

Pedestrian access will be maintained as much as possible, however may need to be prohibited at specific times for safety if the works require it.

The Council and contractor, Hall Trees would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience and assure that the work will be completed as quickly and safely as possible.
