Road core tests in Immingham, Grimsby and Humberston

3:41 pm, Tuesday, 4th July 2023 - 2 years ago

General

North East Lincolnshire Council and its delivery partner, Equans, are carrying out road core tests across the borough on Thursday 6 July.

As part of the road core tests, a small section of the road is taken for analysis to see what the materials consist of and to determine the structural layers of the road.

These tests will be used as part of the detailed design process for future North East Lincolnshire Council schemes. These core tests are funded from the Local Transport Plan (LTP) Capital Programme 2023.

All sites will be managed and controlled by on-site operatives with stop and go traffic signage. The below programme is an approximate and subject to change, depending on progress.

Thursday 6 July

  • Pelham Road – Immingham – between Washdyke Lane and Habrough Road – 8.30am until 10.30am
  • Chantry Lane – Grimsby – between Mandela Link and Ripon Street – 11am until 12pm
  • Richardson Close – Humberston – full length – 1pm until 2pm

Although every effort will be made to minimise disruption throughout the tests, please be aware some elements may be noisy.

The council, Equans and Humberside Materials Lab apologise in advance for the inconvenience this may cause.
