CLEETHORPES’ Sea View Street will be closed over two nights later this week to allow for remedial road surfacing works.

Timed during the present lockdown to avoid disruption when businesses can re-open, the work will take place between 5.30pm and 6am on Thursday and Friday November 19 and 20, completing on the morning of Saturday November 21.

During those hours, the street will close to all traffic with the plaza next to the bank building also closed to ensure the public’s health and safety. Pedestrian access will however be maintained.

The works which are taking place at no cost to North East Lincolnshire Council, are needed to replace defective surfacing material that was laid last year.

The contractors are using the opportunity to also undertake some other remedial works around the Alexandra Road/Sea Road roundabout, again with no extra cost to the authority. Four-way traffic signals will be in operation at the Sea Road/ Alexandra Road junction between 5.30pm and 6am on November 19 and 20/21 to allow these works to be completed safely.
