Following a successful pilot programme, North East Lincolnshire Council has commissioned the InspirED Outreach Service, led by Inspire Connected Communities Trust, to provide specialist Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) support for children aged 0 to 7 across the borough.
The programme supports young children who require additional help with communication and interaction needs, including autism. Through a collaborative approach, specialist practitioners work alongside children and staff in early years and educational settings, helping to develop skills, confidence and expertise in supporting children with SEND.
Since the service began, the InspirED Outreach team has worked with more than 25 educational settings across North East Lincolnshire, helping to strengthen inclusive practice and enhance support for children with additional needs.
The service has received highly positive feedback from educational settings, with many highlighting the benefits of having specialist practitioners provide practical guidance and tailored support on site. The partnership between the InspirED Outreach team, educational settings and North East Lincolnshire Council is helping to ensure a consistent focus on delivering high-quality, evidence-informed provision for children with SEND.

“Massive improvement with the child’s interaction with adults. They are now more engaged in non-preferred activities.”
“We’re really grateful for the patience, support and involvement we received. It was good to have a visit from our practitioner too, to brainstorm ideas and discuss ways forward. We are very grateful for everything.”

Parents and carers cannot make direct referrals to the service.
Referrals are coordinated through educational settings in partnership with North East Lincolnshire Council’s Early Years Team and the SEN Service.
