North East Lincolnshire Council are replacing most of the street lighting columns on Scartho Road, Grimsby.

The current columns are reaching the end of their service life and need to be replaced to ensure safety and reliability. As part of the work, some columns will be repositioned further back on the footpath where possible. This will help reduce the risk of vehicle damage and improve access for pedestrians. The new columns will provide a long-term solution for this busy route.

Works are due to start on Wednesday 17 June (today) and is expected to be completed by Friday 10 July. Construction will take place during the day, between 9.30am and 3.30pm to avoid peak traffic times, and there will be no night-time working.

To keep everyone safe, but also ensure minimal disruption, the contractor will use localised traffic management including cones/barriers and also Stop/Go boards where necessary while works take place.

The Council and contractor, J McCann & Co, apologise for any inconvenience and thank residents for their patience while these essential improvements are carried out.
