A survey has been launched to engage with people who struggle with substance use to improve services for them.
Almost 1,500 people in North East Lincolnshire regularly access support for substance use and addiction.
In the local area there are a number of support services for people who are struggling with addiction, whether that be alcohol or drug related.
Speaking about the survey, Councillor Stan Shreeve, portfolio holder for health, wellbeing and adult social care at North East Lincolnshire Council, said:
“This is an opportunity for people that are using these services, have had experience of using them in the past, and those who have been through recovery using other services or support mechanisms, or perhaps have not accessed any of those services in their recovery to come forward and have their voices heard.
“Their valuable feedback will be used to inform changes to the existing services, and could even influence the creation of new services and initiatives in the future.
“It’s vital that we get as many people responding as possible.”
Local data shows that, in 2022, some 21.4% of non-opiate users successfully completed drug treatment, compared with 3.3% of opiate users.
In North East Lincolnshire, support is offered by organisations including With You – formerly We Are With You – and is bolstered by community support from organisations like Creative Start.

People have until Friday 28 February 2025 to respond with their views and experiences.
