10:32 am, Tuesday, 12th May 2026 - 2 weeks ago

General

Network Rail will be carrying out essential work to upgrade the level crossing at Garden Street in Grimsby from Saturday this week.

A full road closure will be in place at the crossing from Saturday 16 May at 8am to Saturday 23 May at 6pm. During this period, there will be no access for vehicles or pedestrians over the level crossing.

The diversion routes in place will be along Doughty Road and along Duchess St and Wellowgate for the main part of the works.

Network Rail will also use the Wellowgate level crossing to move heavy machinery needed for the works. This will require temporary road closures at one-hour intervals from Sunday 17 May to Monday 18 May, between 4am–5am and 8pm–9pm. The Wellowgate crossing will remain open as normal outside of these times.
