ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1)(a)

GARDEN STREET, GRIMSBY

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC – TTRO 22-098) ORDER 2022

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the North East Lincolnshire Borough Council have made, an Order, the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any motor vehicle, cycle or pedestrian from PROCEEDING along the below sections of highway:

  • A section of GARDEN STREET – Part Length from a point 20 metres north of GARDEN STREET LEVEL CROSSING to a point 20 metres south of GARDEN STREET LEVEL CROSSING.

Alternative route 1: GARDEN STREET, AINSLIE STREET, B1212 WELHOLME ROAD, A1243 BARGATE, A1136 DEANSGATE, CHURCH LANE, BETHLEHEM STREET, SOUTH ST MARYS GATE, GARDEN STREET

Alternative route 2: ABBEY WALK, OSBORNE STREET, SOUTH ST MARYS GATE, BETHLEHEM STREET, CHURCH LANE, A1136 DEANSGATE, A1243 BARGATE, B1212 WELHOLME ROAD, AINSLIE STREET, GARDEN STREET

This temporary prohibition is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road by Network Rail.  These works are detailed as resleepering works through Garden Street Level Crossing.

Works will be phased across multiple periods of overnight road closure to minimise disruption to traffic. The five separate periods of closure are as follows:

Saturday 01 October 2022 to Sunday 02 October 2022 (23:50hrs until 09:15hrs)

Tuesday 04 October 2022 to Wednesday 05 October 2022 (23:00hrs until 05:00hrs)

Thursday 08 October 2022 to Friday 09 October 2022 (23:50hrs until 09:15hrs)

Saturday 15 October 2022 to Sunday 16 October 2022 (23:50hrs until 09:15hrs)

Saturday 22 October 2022 to Sunday 23 October 2022 (23:50hrs until 09:15hrs)

The Order will come into operation on Saturday, 01 October 2022, and will continue in force for a period not exceeding 18 months unless extended for a further period by the Secretary of State for Transport, or until completion of the works (whichever is the earlier). The closure is expected to remain in place until Sunday, 23 October 2022. Definitive dates and times will be notified by on-site advanced warning signs.

The dates and times above are correct at the point of print however implementation on site may vary due to unforeseen circumstances. Diversion routes will be signposted and published online on One Network and Public notices.
