ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 (SPECIAL EVENTS) – SECTION 16A
TOWN HALL SQUARE AREA, GRIMSBY
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC, TEMPORARY REVERSAL OF ONE WAY AND TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF ONE WAY – TTRO 24-071) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the North East Lincolnshire Borough Council intends to make, not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, an Order, the effect of which will be:
Between 9:30pm until 11:59pm –
- That no person shall cause or permit any motor vehicle to PROCEED along the following sections of highway:
- TOWN HALL SQUARE – Part length, from the junction of DOUGHTY ROAD to its intersection with EAST STREET.
- EAST STREET – Part length, from its intersection with TOWN HALL SQUARE in a northerly direction for a distance of 33 metres.
- TOWN HALL STREET – Full extent from the junction of VICTORIA STREET WEST heading in a southerly direction to TOWN HALL SQUARE.
Alternative route for diverted traffic: Osbourne Street, St Mary’s Gate, Bethlehem Street, A1136 Frederick Ward Way
- That the one-way direction of travel along PASTURE STREET part length between VICTORIA STREET WEST and EAST STREET be temporarily reversed so that any motor vehicle will PROCEED in an EASTERLY DIRECTION ONLY along this section of highway.
- That the one-way direction of travel along EAST STREET be temporarily suspended for part of its length so that TWO-WAY DIRECTION OF TRAVEL is enabled from the northern property boundary of 21 EAST STREET to its junction with PASTURE STREET.
Between 00:00am and 11:59pm –
- That no person shall cause or permit any motor vehicle to PROCEED along the following sections of highway:
- DOUGHTY LEARNING CENTRE ACCESS ROAD – Full extent
The above temporary prohibitions are required to ensure safe facilitation of a Town Hall event. Exemptions will be for authorised vehicles only.
The Order will come into operation on Thursday 4 July 2024, and will continue in force for one day unless extended for a further period by the Secretary of State for Transport, or until completion of the event (whichever is earlier). Definitive dates and times will be notified by on-site advanced warning signs.
The dates and times above are correct at the point of print however implementation on site may vary due to unforeseen circumstances. Diversion routes will be signposted and published online on One Network and Public notices.
