A18 BARTON STREET / WALTHAM ROAD (BARNOLDBY LE BECK) JUNCTION – CARRIAGEWAY SURFACING AND ROAD MARKINGS
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC & TEMPORARY SPEED LIMIT REDUCTION (30MPH / 10MPH) – TTRO 22-038) ORDER 2022
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the North East Lincolnshire Borough Council have made, an Order, the effect of which will be:
Temporary Road Closure
a) that no person shall cause or permit any motor vehicle from PROCEEDING along the below section of highway:
- A section of WALTHAM ROAD, BARNOLDBY LE BECK – Part Length from its roundabout junction with A18 BARTON STREET to a point 415 metres northeast of its roundabout junction with A18 BARTON STREET.
Alternative route 1 (REVERSE ROUTE APPLIES): BRADLEY ROAD, A46 LACEBY ROAD, A46 GRIMSBY ROAD, A18 BARTON STREET
Alternative route 2: A18 BARTON STREET, WALTHAM ROAD (BRIGSLEY), BRIGSLEY ROAD (BRIGSLEY),
Temporary Speed Limit Reduction with Convoy Working
b) that no person shall cause or permit any motor vehicle to travel along the below sections of highway at a speed in excess of 30mph:
- A section of A18 BARTON STREET, GRIMSBY – Part Length from a point 200 metres north of its junction with MAIN ROAD, BEELSBY to its junction with MAIN ROAD, BEELSBY.
c) that no person shall cause or permit any motor vehicle to travel along the below sections of highway at a speed in excess of 10mph (CONVOY WORKING):
- A section of A18 BARTON STREET, GRIMSBY – Part Length from its junction with MAIN ROAD, BEELSBY to its junction with OLD FARM ROAD, HATCLIFFE.
d) that no person shall cause or permit any motor vehicle to overtake a works vehicle that is being used in accordance with a system of CONVOY WORKING, for the purpose of controlling traffic.
The above temporary restrictions are required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road by North East Lincolnshire Council. These works are detailed as the application of high friction carriageway surfacing and road markings.
Works will be undertaken overnight between 9pm and 6am to minimise disruption to traffic.
The Order will come into operation on Tuesday, 10 May 2022, and will continue in force for a period not exceeding 18 months unless extended for a further period by the Secretary of State for Transport, or until completion of the works (whichever is the earlier). The closure is expected to remain in place until 06:00hrs on Friday, 13 May 2022. Definitive dates and times will be notified by on-site advanced warning signs.
