THE NORTH EAST LINCOLNSHIRE BOROUGH COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1)(a)

THOROLD STREET & A180 CLEETHORPE ROAD, GRIMSBY
(TEMPORARY
PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC & TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF BUS LANE – TTRO 23-002) ORDER 2023

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the North East Lincolnshire Borough Council intends to make, not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, an Order, the effect of which will be that:

a) no person shall cause or permit any motor vehicle from PROCEEDING along the below sections of highway:

  • A section of THOROLD STREET (SOUTHBOUND CARRIAGEWAY ONLY) – Part Length from its junction with A180 CLEETHORPE ROAD to a point 25 metres north-east of its junction with A180 CLEETHORPE ROAD. 

Alternative route: THOROLD STREET, HUMBER STREET, A180 CLEETHORPE ROAD

The above temporary prohibition is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road by Anglian Water.  These works are detailed as the installation of multiple washouts on the central reservation of A180 CLEETHORPE ROAD.

b) the permanent bus lane in place along the below sections of highway is suspended:

The above temporary suspension is required in order to divert traffic from the off-side carriageway lane (closed during works) into the nearside carriageway lane, which ordinarily would only permit use by specified types of vehicle Monday to Saturday between the hours of 4.30-6.30pm. 

The Order will come into operation on Tuesday, 11 April 2023, and will continue in force for a period not exceeding 18 months unless extended for a further period by the Secretary of State for Transport, or until completion of the works (whichever is the earlier). The temporary closure and suspension are expected to remain in place until Tuesday, 18 April 2023.  Definitive dates and times will be notified by on-site advanced warning signs.

The dates and times above are correct at the point of print however implementation on site may vary due to unforeseen circumstances. Diversion routes will be signposted and published online at: One Network and NELC Public Notices.
