THE NORTH EAST LINCOLNSHIRE BOROUGH COUNCIL ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1)

HAYCROFT FOOTBRIDGE, OFF HAVEN AVENUE, GRIMSBY (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC– TTRO 21-142E) EMERGENCY NOTICE 2021

WHEREAS the North East Lincolnshire Borough Council (hereinafter referred to as “the Council”), in exercise of its powers under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 hereby make the following Emergency Notice the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any pedestrians, from PROCEEDING along the below sections of highway:

The footbridge known as HAYCROFT FOOTBRIDGE off Haven Avenue, Grimsby

Alternative route: Footbridge via YARBOROUGH DRIVE to EARL STREET

This emergency prohibition is necessary to maintain public safety following the identification of a defect in the bridge structure. Repairs will made in due course.

The Interpretation Act 1978 shall apply in the interpretation of the Notice as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of Parliament.

The Notice shall come into operation on Thursday, 28 October 2021 and shall continue for a period of 21 days unless extended by Order of the Secretary of State for Transport. The closure is expected to remain in place until Thursday, 18 November 2021.
