ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1)(b)

BRADLEY ROAD, GRIMSBY

(TEMPORARY SPEED LIMIT AMENDMENTS – TTRO 22-160) ORDER 2022

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the North East Lincolnshire Borough Council intends to make, not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, an Order, the effect of which will be:

a) to formally introduce a 40mph speed limit on the below section of highway:

  • A section of BRADLEY ROAD – Part length, from a point 76 metres north of the northern kerbline of MARIAN WAY to a point 202 metres north of the northern kerbline of MARIAN WAY.

b) that no person shall cause or permit any motor vehicle to travel along the length of highway detailed in (a) above, at a speed in excess of 40mph.

c) to revoke any historic Speed Limit Orders (SLOs) which relate to the below section of highway:

  • A section of BRALDEY ROAD – Part length, from its roundabout junction with WALTHAM ROAD / BARNOLDBY ROAD to a point 76 metres north of the northern kerbline of MARIAN WAY.

(For the avoidance of doubt any previous SLOs in place along the above length of road shall be revoked and the affected section reverted to a 30mph Speed Limit by virtue of it being a Restricted Road, in accordance with Section 82 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984)

d) that no person shall cause or permit any motor vehicle to travel along the length of Restricted Road detailed in (c) above, at a speed in excess of 30mph.

The above changes are required to improve road safety by ensuring appropriate vehicle speeds on the approach to a new Pedestrian Crossing point and that any underpinning legal orders for the surrounding carriageway match current on-site arrangements.

The Order will come into operation on Friday, 02 December 2022, and will continue in force for a period not exceeding 18 months unless extended for a further period by the Secretary of State for Transport. The Order is expected to remain in place until Saturday, 01 June 2024 with a view to making the above arrangements permanent via the appropriate Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) process.

A copy of the sealed Temporary Traffic Regulation Order may be inspected online via North East Lincolnshire Council’s website by searching ‘Temporary TRO’, or go to Traffic regulation orders.

For further information, telephone NELC Traffic Team – 01472 313131 for an explanation of the changes.
