THE NORTH EAST LINCOLNSHIRE BOROUGH COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1)

B1219 STATION ROAD (WALTHAM)

(TEMPORARY SPEED LIMIT REDUCTION – TTRO 22-054) ORDER 2022

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the North East Lincolnshire Borough Council have made, an Order, the effect of which will be:

a) to temporarily revoke a section of the existing 40mph speed limit in place along the below sections of highway, thereby reverting those lengths of road back to Restricted Roads and a 30mph speed limit by virtue of a system of street lighting:

  • A section of B1219 STATION ROAD, WALTHAM – Part length from a point 9.2 metres north-east of the north-easterly property boundary of No. 20 STATION ROAD to a point 98.1 metres north-east of the north-easterly property boundary of No. 20 STATION ROAD, a distance of 88.9 metres.

b) that no person shall cause or permit any motor vehicle to travel along those lengths of Restricted Road detailed above at a speed in excess of 30mph.

The temporary extension to the 30mph speed limit is required to reduce the speed of traffic travelling along the route whilst works are undertaken to install a new zebra pedestrian crossing facility and improve the safety of all road users, particularly those utilising the new provision, following its implementation.

The Order will come into operation on Monday, 25 July 2022, and will continue in force for a period not exceeding 18 months unless extended for a further period by the Secretary of State for Transport. The temporary speed limit is expected to remain in place until Wednesday, 24 January 2024with a view to making permanent the speed limit reduction before that date, via the appropriate Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) process.

The dates and times above are correct at the point of print however implementation on site may vary due to unforeseen circumstances. Diversion routes will be signposted and published online on One Network and Public notices.
