THE NORTH EAST LINCOLNSHIRE BOROUGH COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1)

A SECTION OF A1173, A1173 KINGS ROAD AND KINGS ROAD (IMMINGHAM) (TEMPORARY SPEED LIMIT REDUCTION – TTRO 22-006) ORDER 2022

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the North East Lincolnshire Borough Council have made, an Order, the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any motor vehicle to travel along the below sections of highway at a speed in excess of 40mph:

  • A section of A1173 (both directions) – Part length from its roundabout junction with A1173 / KILN LANE up to and including the circulatory of its roundabout junction with A1173 KINGS ROAD / KINGS ROAD.
  • A section of A1173 KINGS ROAD (both directions) – Part length from the centre-point of its roundabout junction with A1173 / KINGS ROAD to a point 50 metres north-west of the centre-point of its roundabout junction with A1173 / KINGS ROAD
  • A section of KINGS ROAD (both directions) – Part length from the centre-point of its roundabout junction with A1173 / A1173 KINGS ROAD to a point 199 metres north-east of the centre-point of its roundabout junction with A1173 / A1173 KINGS ROAD.


This temporary speed limit reduction is required to improve the safety of those undertaking works on behalf of North East Lincolnshire Council to implement a new, safer facility for cyclists adjacent to the carriageway.

The Order will come into operation on Tuesday, 25 January 2022, and will continue in force for a period not exceeding 18 months unless extended for a further period by the Secretary of State for Transport. The temporary speed limit is expected to remain in place until Saturday, 30 April 2022.
