Major improvement works at Toll Bar roundabout, funded by the Greater Lincolnshire LEP, are to finish shortly.
Resurfacing works have been taking place this week, however due to the wet weather earlier this week ahead of Storm Christoph, the contractor will be unable to complete the work by Friday 22 January as planned.
The roundabout will now also be closed completely to traffic during the day-time from 7.30am to 6pm on Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 January to compensate for the days lost to the bad weather and allow the resurfacing and re-lining works to be completed.
This is weather permitting but the forecast currently looks promising for the final works.
Through traffic from the A16 will be diverted via the A18 and localised diversions will be in place for Station Road traffic and any pedestrians, in the area will be diverted around the works. Amendments to Public Transport arrangements will remain in effect during this period.
Cabinet member for transport and the environment, Cllr Stewart Swinburn, explained: “Unfortunately, as the latest storm has passed through, the timetable has had to be delayed. However, I hope that, with the better weather in the next few days, this will allow the works to be completed ahead of the new working week.”
