Upcoming A180 overnight works

Overnight works are required to the decks of the A180 bridges to complete elements of the programme. Work is continuing underneath the bridges, but this will not affect traffic.

The schedule for overnight works on the A180 bridges has changed from previously issued due to contractor availability. This is the latest schedule of works:

August:

9 August, from 8pm to 5am on 10 August – Cleethorpe Road Bridge (Lockhill Roundabout to Freeman St) will be closed for re-surfacing, installation of road markings and studs.

12 to 16 August – Gilbey Road Bridge (Moody Lane to Gilbey Road) will be closed overnight from 8pm to 5am the next day in both directions for installation of High Friction Surfacing for safety.

UPDATE 8/8/24: The cycleway closure has been postponed. (was originally planned for 12 and 13 August – The cycle way under Gilbey Road Bridge will be closed for 2 days to allow for the erection of scaffolding.)

September:

4 and 5 September: Cleethorpe Road Bridge to be closed overnight from 8pm to 5am the next day to install traffic light sensors.

9 to 14 September: Gilbey Road Bridge, East Bound to be closed overnight from 8pm to 5am the next day to replace the temporary bridge joint.

Early September: dates to be confirmed: Cleethorpe Road Bridge to be closed overnight for installation of the high friction surface for safety. Dates will depend on contractor availability.

All works are subject to weather conditions.

The A180 Bridges waterproofing programme has been funded mainly through Government grant..
