11:00 am, Tuesday, 6th August 2024 - 1 month ago

Roads, parking and transport

North East Lincolnshire Council and its delivery partner, Equans, are undertaking carriageway resurfacing works to improve the condition of highways across the borough.

These works are part of the Pothole Fund 2024 which is funding allocated by the Government to help repair damage to the local road network. The pothole funding can be allocated to all forms of maintenance projects enabling the authority to improve the quality of carriageways and footpaths by repairing and preventing the build-up of potholes across the network.

Works will include:

Chantry Lane, between Littlefield Lane and Cartergate and between Mandela Link and Ripon Street

The works will start on Monday 30 September and will be completed on Wednesday 2 October.

To enable the works to be carried out and to ensure the safety of contractors, a road closure will be in place on Chantry Lane 24 hours a day from 7pm Sunday 29 September until 6pm Wednesday 2 October. Chantry Lane will be closed between Littlefield Lane and Cartergate and between Mandela Link and Ripon Street. The works will be carried out each day between 7am and 6pm.

Please be aware that no vehicle access will be permitted within the road closure extents for the duration of the works and on street parking will be suspended.

Isaac’s Hill, between Isaac’s Hill Roundabout and St Peter’s Avenue Cleethorpes

Works will be undertaken overnight starting on Monday 7 October and will be completed on Friday 11 October.

To enable the works to be carried out and ensure the safety of contractors, a full road closure will be in place each night between 7pm and 6am. No vehicular access will be permitted during these times. Please be aware on street parking will also be temporarily suspended between Isaac’s Hill Roundabout and St Peters Avenue from 5pm Monday 7 October to 6am Friday 11 October.

Pilgrim Avenue, between Carver Road and 57 Pilgrim Avenue, Immingham

Works will begin on Thursday 3 October and will be completed on Friday 4 October.

To enable the works to be carried out and ensure the safety of contractors, a full road closure will be in place from 7am until 6pm for the resurfacing.

Unfortunately, access to property driveways on Pilgrim Avenue within the road closure extents will not be permitted during the closure times due to the depth of the excavation being undertaken. On street parking will also be suspended within the section extents for the closure period. Footway access will be maintained at all times.

Please support the contractor by not parking vehicles on the carriageway or footway in the works location to ensure a safe working area can be maintained and to avoid delaying the works programme.

Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained throughout the works. Although every effort will be made to minimise disruption throughout the works, please be aware some elements will be noisy.

The council, Equans and contractor Specialist Surfacing Ltd would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience and assure you that the work will be completed as quickly and safely as possible.
