Children in North East Lincolnshire are being encouraged to enter their creative creations into a competition, with a chance to win shopping vouchers!

Submissions could be featured on local authority documents, graphics, and social media posts.

We’re exploring opportunities to exhibit children’s work in an exhibition and your creation may feature in a public space in the future to celebrate the creativity of children and young people in our borough’.

Drawings, paintings, mixed media and digital artwork (tactile or physical piece such as textiles, sculptures, woodwork are all accepted submitted initially as images).

Schools are being encouraged to submit artwork from their students before the closing date of Friday 9 February 2024.

The work must follow one of the following themes:

  • Life in Cleethorpes
  • Life in Grimsby
  • Life in Immingham
  • Fun with family

And for students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), there is an additional theme:

  • Life in North East Lincolnshire as a young person with SEND

Young people taking part must be aged 0 to 18 (up to 25 years old if they have special educational needs and disabilities).

The competition entries will be judged by the Young People Advisory Group (YPAG), with winners being notified around the middle of February.

The winning artists will be awarded a prize of vouchers for a local independent store.

The deadline for submissions is Friday 9 February 2024.

To enter, please submit an image preferably by email if you’ve created a tactile or physical piece such as textiles, sculptures, woodwork. Send your submission via email to [email protected] or drop your entry off to Grimsby Town Hall or Cleethorpes Town Hall (images please only if you’ve created a tactile or physical piece such as textiles, sculptures, woodwork).

Entries should include the artists name, age, and school or college name on the back.

Any submissions may be used in the design of Council documents, graphics, and social media posts in the future. Where possible and appropriate, artwork will be attributed to the artist, with their first name and age at the time of the drawing being created (for example: James, aged 5).

Winners will be invited for a photograph, which will be publicised, along with their names, on the Council’s website, social media, and in the local and regional media.
