General

A layby on Hewitt’s Avenue, opposite the car dealerships, in Cleethorpes is being permanently closed following initial works to prevent vehicle access.

The layby was temporarily closed in 2018 to prevent access following reports of fly-tipping and anti-social behaviour in the layby.

The legal Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) process to permanently close the layby is now complete and associated works will soon be underway to formalise the order.

Works will be starting on Monday 1 November to remove the existing vehicle access and install new kerbs, drainage, topsoil, fencing and gates to formalise the layby closure.

Works are planned to take two weeks to complete and temporary traffic signals will be in place each day between 7:30am and 6pm to ensure the safety of the workforce.

Keep up to date with roadworks taking place across the area at www.nelincs.gov.uk/roadworks.
