Cllr Tim Mickleburgh
Labour
Term of Office until 2026
Ward: South
Introduction
Tim Mickleburgh first moved to Grimsby in 1968 when he used to attend what became Haven Methodist Chapel, and had his hair cut by Alfie Bunn’s in Lord Street.
Tim’s first ever night in the town was spent at a relative’s who lived in Carnforth Crescent, and he recalls playing cricket at Nunsthorpe Junior School who under teacher John Cooper had the best side for their age group in the area.
More recently Tim was involved in producing the magazine “Riverside”, which led to him becoming a member of the Macaulay Area Action Committee.
Tim has a lifelong interest in seaside piers, having written books for Ian Allan, Francis Frith, North East Lincolnshire Council (about Cleethorpes Pier) and the National Piers Society for whom he is their Hon Vice President. He has also written books about local history, most recently “Haven, Fifty Years and Counting”.
A passionate believer in equality, Tim joined the Labour Party to ensure that the wishes of ordinary people, particularly living in the north, didn’t get forgotten.
