Ward funding
Funding for wards
The council’s Ward Funding Scheme was replaced by the Stronger Communities Fund in 2017/18.
The ward fund scheme had an allocated budget which was shared equally across the 15 wards. A report on the governance and administration of ward funding, including the allocated budgets for 2015/16 and 2016/17 was presented to full council on 26 March 2015.
All members in the ward had to sign each application form to say they were in agreement with the funding allocation before the application was submitted to the Chief Executive for approval. Members would follow up each project to ensure that the funding had been used for the purpose for which it was granted and submitted a signed “statement of satisfaction” form to the Chief Executive’s office with evidence of spend as appropriate.
