Barnoldby Le Beck Community Governance Review

At the request of the parish council, North East Lincolnshire Council (as principal authority) has undertaken a community governance review of Barnoldby Le Beck Parish Council.

In 2020, the parish council wrote to North East Lincolnshire Council to request an increase in the number of parish councillors from five to six, based on significant housing development which was planned for the village.

In accordance with the requirements of the Local Government and Public Health Act 2007, the Council has undertaken public consultation on the current arrangements and then on the subsequent recommendation to support the increase in the number of parish councillors from five to six.

As no adverse comments were received to either consultation phase, on 27th July 2021, Full Council agreed:

  • The number of parish councillors on Barnoldby Le Beck Parish Council be increased from five to six.
  • That the change take effect from the next parish council elections in May 2023 to coincide with the rest of the parish council elections in North East Lincolnshire.
  • That the parish council remain unwarded.

Following the conclusion of the community governance review, the consequential order (PDF, 176KB) was created.
