Insurance and risk management
Insurance services are provided by a small team within our Audit and Assurance Service who are responsible for:
- arranging and negotiating appropriate insurance cover for the authority
- control of all claims made against the various insurance policies

Risk and Opportunities Management Policy
Risk management is an important part of how North East Lincolnshire Council achieves its priorities. The council proactively manages its risks, and this allows us not only to manage current priorities, but meet future challenges. The Audit and Assurance Service are responsible for updating the framework.
The purpose of this framework is to define how risks will be managed by the council. It provides guidance on the processes, procedures, roles and responsibilities for risk. It sets the context on how risks are managed. The Risk and Opportunities Management Policy (PDF) was approved by the Audit Committee on 20 April 2017.
