Productivity Plan

In April 2024, the Department for Levelling Up, Housing & Communities (DLUHC) requested that councils produce a Productivity Plan which was a requirement of the Local Government Finance Settlement.

DLUHC did not specify a format for the plan but stated that it should cover the themes of transformation, technology and use of data, plans to reduce wasteful spend, and barriers preventing progress that the government can help to reduce or remove.

The government at the time stated that they would consider the themes and evidence form the plans, in terms of future national policy design and the role of government in supporting further change.
