We have been informed by Cadent Gas that the process of carrying out upgrades to equipment on Weelsby Road, Hainton Avenue and Peaks Lane will take longer than expected.
Current works are taking place on Weelsby Road at the junction of Hainton Avenue. Temporary traffic signals are situated at this junction with a road closure in place on Hainton Avenue, Recto Avenue and Revigo Avenue. It had been estimated that works would complete on Monday 17 February however there has been engineering issues resulting in low pressure. To ensure that this is rectified and does not happen in the future, additional specialist equipment has been ordered.
The closures on Hainton Avenue, Recto Avenue and Revigo Avenue will now be removed on Monday 3 March, and the temporary traffic signals will be moved to the junction of Heneage Road to complete the connection of the new equipment. These signals will be removed on Thursday 13 March.
Following this, the next closure on Hainton Avenue will be in place north of Welholme Road between Monday 3 March and Monday 24 March.
The final phase of the works will see Cadent Gas continuing upgrades along Peaks Lane between Monday 21 April and Monday 30 June.
Temporary traffic lights will also be in place for the duration of this phase with no closures necessary.
We apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused and thank residents for their patience and understanding during this important upgrade work.
