ARMSTRONG STREET, GRIMSBY AREA (TEMPORARY PROHIBITON OF TRAFFIC – TTRO 25-051) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the North East Lincolnshire Borough Council have made, an Order, the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any motor vehicle, pedestrian or cycle from PROCEEDING along the below sections of highway:

• ARMSTRONG STREET – Part length from the junction of PYEWIPE ROAD heading in an easterly direction to the junction of CHARLTON STREET, for a distance of 280 metres.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Pyewipe Road, Corporation Road, Beeson Street.

• BEESON STREET – Full Extent from the junction of Corporation Road heading in a northerly direction to the junction of Armstrong Street.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: N/A

• CHARLTON STREET – from it’s junction with ARMSTRONG STREET in a southerly direction for a distance of no more than 30 metres.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: CORPORATION ROAD, RENDEL STREET, ARMSTRONG STREET – reverse route applies

For the avoidance of doubt two-way access will be maintained along CHARLTON STREET from its junction with CORPORATION ROAD to the point of closure.

This temporary prohibition is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road by NELC. These works are detailed as highway maintenance works and will be completed in 2 phases.

Phase 1 – Civil works (Monday 10 March – Thursday 10 April)

• Armstrong Street between Pyewipe Road to Beeson Street – Northside (Monday 10th March – Thursday 20th March)
• Pyewipe Road to Beeson Street – Southside (Friday 14th March – Thursday 20th March)
• Armstrong Street between Beeson Street and Charlton Street Friday 21st March – Monday 31st March)
• Bellmouth of Beeson Street and Armstrong Street Junction (Thursday 27th March – Monday 31st March)
• Bellmouth of Charlton Street and Armstrong Street Junction (Tuesday 01st April –Thursday 10th April)

Phase 2 – Carriageway resurfacing and road marking (Monday 14 April – Wednesday 7th May)

• Armstrong Street between Beeson Street and Charlton Street (including both junctions) – (Monday 14th April – Thursday 17th April)
• Pyewipe Road to Beeson Street (excluding Beeson Street junction) – (Sunday 27th April – Sunday 4th May)
• Beeson Street ( between Corporation Road and Beeson Grove) – (Tuesday 22nd April – Wednesday 23rd April).

The Order will come into operation on Monday, 10 March 2025, and will continue in force for a period not exceeding 18 months unless extended for a further period by the Secretary of State for Transport, or until completion of the works (whichever is the earlier). The closure is expected to remain in place until Wednesday, 07 May 2025. Definitive dates and times will be notified with on-site advanced warning signs.

The dates and times above are correct at the point of print however implementation on site may vary due to unforeseen circumstances. Diversion routes will be signposted and published online on One Network and Public notices.
