Cleethorpes’ Pier Gardens has now been fully closed to the public so work can start on the major renovations.

Maylim have been on site for the last week, setting up the main site and welfare facilities, and installing around a mile of fencing around the site. The area fenced off includes the all the way around the gardens, the pathways leading to them from Central Prom, and also a small area of pavement on Alexandra Road.

Early works will include creating site access from Alexandra Road, approximately opposite Dolphin Street. All paving and segments removed from the wall will be kept and reinstated at the end of the contract.

Throughout the project, Maylim will be providing opportunities for people to have a walk around the site too so they can see the changes first hand, as well as “first go” days for things like the play equipment and the urban sport area.

If you’re interested in following progress on site, sign up to Maylim’s newsletter on our website, www.nelincs.gov.uk/pier-gardens.
