To mark National Safeguarding Adults Week, North East Lincolnshire’s safeguarding partners are delivering a series of webinars throughout November to raise awareness of adult safeguarding and promote this year’s theme, “Every Voice, Every Choice.”

The campaign highlights the importance of Making Safeguarding Personal, ensuring that adults are listened to, involved in decisions about their lives, and supported to achieve the outcomes that matter most to them.

The webinars will bring together professionals and organisations from across the local safeguarding partnership, including Focus Independent Adult Social Work, Navigo, Care Plus Group, Humberside Police, North East Lincolnshire Council, and Humberside Fire and Rescue Service. Each session will explore safeguarding from a different perspective, sharing knowledge, experience and good practice to strengthen safeguarding across the area.

Councillor Nigel Oliver, portfolio holder for health, wellbeing and adult social care at North East Lincolnshire Council, said:

“We thought it was important to mark National Safeguarding Week by sharing the expertise and experience of those working in relevant fields. However, once we started to look at what we could offer, we ended up going beyond the week.”

“I’m pleased to say that we’re now offering webinars throughout the first three weeks of November, to share best practice and unique perspectives.”

“These webinars are an opportunity for local professionals to really hear from people on the front line who are working with vulnerable adults in a number of different capacities. It’s not often that these experiences come along so I’d urge people working in this industry to tune in.”

Professionals working across adult social care, health, emergency services and the voluntary sector in North East Lincolnshire have been invited to attend the free sessions.
