Council Cabinet and other positions confirmed at the AGM

The Leader and Cabinet for North East Lincolnshire Council has been announced at the Council’s Annual General Meeting this week (Thursday 21 May).

The responsibilities for the following year are as follows:

  • Councillor Oliver Freeston: Leader of the Council and Portfolio Holder for Strategic Renewal, Delivery and Place Leadership
  • Councillor Samuel Grice: Deputy Leader and Portfolio Holder for Children and Education
  • Councillor Nigel Oliver: Portfolio Holder for Health, Wellbeing and Adult Social Care
  • Councillor Simon Taylor: Portfolio Holder for Finance, Resources and Assets
  • Councillor Bob Callison: Portfolio Holder for Environment and Energy Security
  • Councillor Paul Batson: Portfolio Holder for Housing, Infrastructure and Transport
  • Councillor James Sawkins: Portfolio Holder for Safer and Stronger Communities
  • Councillor Tanya Brasted: Portfolio Holder for Culture, Heritage and the Visitor Economy

Other committee and Scrutiny Panel chairs were also agreed as follows:

Scrutiny Panels: 

  • Communities Chair: Councillor Emma Clough
  • Children and Lifelong Learning: Councillor Lyndsey Downes
  • Economy, Culture and Tourism: Chair: Councillor Malcolm Morland
  • Health and Adult Social Care: Chair: Councillor Karl Wilson
  • Transport, Infrastructure and Housing Chair: Councillor Sheldon Mill

Regulatory Committees: Subject to change

  • Planning Committee Chair: Councillor Matthew Patrick
  • Standards and Adjudication Committee Chair: Councillor Dan Humphrey
  • Appointments Committee Chair: Councillor Oliver Freeston
  • Audit and Governance Committee independent chair: Mr Paul Stone. Deputy Chair Councillor Edward Kaczmarek
  • Licensing and Community Protection Committee Chair: Councillor Robson Augusta

These appointments have been made at the Annual General Meeting of the Council, along with other committee chairs and placings.
