Grimsby Town Hall’s Assembly Rooms is the setting for the Community Live Question Time evening
THERE’S room for 200 people: how many questions will be asked?
Yes, this is your chance to quiz the new Leader of North East Lincolnshire Council and members of his cabinet.
Community Live is a new event at Grimsby Town Hall on Monday, 21 September from 6pm to 8pm.
Just like Question Time, people of North East Lincolnshire – and priority will be given to our residents – can apply for a free ticket. You can come along and ask questions of Leader Cllr Oliver Freeston and:
- Cllr Samuel Grice, Deputy Leader and Portfolio Holder for Children and Education;
- Cllr Nigel Oliver, Portfolio Holder for Health, Wellbeing and Adult Social Care;
- Cllr Simon Taylor, Portfolio Holder for Finance, Resources and Assets;
- Cllr Bob Callison, Portfolio Holder for Environment and Energy Security;
- Cllr Paul Batson, Portfolio Holder for Housing, Infrastructure and Transport;
- Cllr James Sawkins, Portfolio Holder for Safer and Stronger Communities;
- Cllr Tanya Brasted, Portfolio Holder for Culture, Heritage and the Visitor Economy.
Together, these eight elected members make important council decisions that impact everyone living and working here.
Housing, roads, children and adult care, planning, emptying your bins, keeping streets clean and safe, and deciding what money is spent where – these are the people who make those choices, and more, on your behalf.
There’s space for 200 of you to come along and ask your questions – and Cllr Freeston wants to see you there.
He said: “Since we were elected in May, myself and all the cabinet members have been determined to go out and get views of all our residents. It is really important that we do that – and that we listen and do all we can to ensure concerns are heard and acted on.
“We want this event to be an extension of that work – come along, ask us questions, and what you will get is honest views and answers. If we can’t do something or don’t know, we will tell you why or find out, and if we can act then, then we will. We want to see you all there,” he added.
